As you may know, BOTOX® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles for multiple cosmetic and medical benefits. Some examples are:
– To prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraine who have 15 or more days each month, with headache, lasting 4 or more hours each day, in people 18 years or older
– To treat certain types of eye muscle problems (strabismus) or abnormal spasm of the eyelids (blepharospasm) in people 12 years and older
-Injected into the skin to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating (severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis) when medicines used on the skin (topical) do not work well enough, in people 18 years and older.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, corners of mouth, crow’s feet, lift a droopy nose & give your neck a little boost, in people 18 to 65 years of age, for a short period of time.
BOTOX® takes 2-7days to show its full results and can last, in general, anywhere from 3-8 months. To help prolong your results, we also carry an amazing product by Vivier Skin called TMR, that can be applied in combination with your BOTOX & Juvederm treatments.
TMR, an acronym for Topical Muscle Relaxant, is formulated to reduce and erase the presence of lines, wrinkles, and creases on the face. Use it alone or as a perfect way to enhance the results of your BOTOX and/or filler treatment!
Why It Works
Unlike other topical products that also smooth the skin and are based on toxins (ie: bee or snake venom), the key ingredient of TMR is a peptide. This anti-aging peptide acts in the same way as a toxin by affecting the neurotransmitters causing muscular contractions, but it is entirely non-toxic so you won’t have to worry about adverse effects related to venom-based products! With repeated use, your wrinkles will gradually fade and you’ll look youthful and rejuvenated! TMR is designed for wrinkles caused by repeated muscular contractions. One vial contains 15ml, which is enough for a couple of months, since you really only need to apply a tiny bit every morning and night.

Dr. Stephen Peach is a practising physician who obtained his MD from Dalhousie University in 1995. He has been a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada since 1997, and has been working in family practice for the past ten years. Dr. Peach has worked in facial aesthetics for the past three years.
