Diet, genetics and lifestyle can all play a major role in the appearance of our skin. If you’re struggling with acne, it’s likely you’ve worked your way down the list of treatment options available with little to no results. Luckily, the field of medical aesthetics is constantly advancing and we’re now able to effectively treat acne with laser, which destroys blemish-causing bacteria and wipes out the marks left behind.
Our Cutera laser has the technology that includes both the nd:yag and xeo’s laser and light-based solutions to kill bacteria that causes acne, and repair damage to rebalance the skin’s overall complexion. The result: beautiful flawless skin.

FAQs
How Does Laser Acne Treatment Work?
At Electra Laser Vancouver, we use Acne Laser Genesis. This is a non-invasive laser procedure designed to treat existing acne, prevent future breakouts and reduce the appearance of acne scars. Acne Laser Genesis works by gently heating the dermis below the skin’s surface. This will kill the bacteria that causes acne to get rid of current blemishes and ward off future breakouts. It also stimulates collagen production to reduce pore size and the appearance of acne scars.
Is Laser Acne Treatment Painful?
Since we apply heat, you’ll feel a gentle and relaxing warming sensation without the sharp sting associated with most laser treatments.
What can I expect during the treatment? How long does a session last?
The Acne Laser Genesis will be pulsed over each area to deliver photon energy until the skin’s internal temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius. The total treatment time is generally 30-45 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed varies depending on the baseline condition of your skin and your desired results. We generally recommend a series of six to eight treatments 2-4 weeks apart for those with active acne.
