Laser Hair Removal and IPL
We offer laser hair-removal treatments using the Cynosure Elite™ Dual Platform Laser. This revolutionary technology combines two optimal laser wavelengths in one system: the 755-nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser. The 755-nm wavelength has high melanin absorption characteristics and proven long-term results for permanent hair reduction. The high-powered 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser is the safest wavelength for permanent hair reduction on darker skin types and tanned skin. The wavelengths on our laser hair removal can also be switched during a single procedure, allowing for the use of the most appropriate laser for any given hair or skin type. Combined with the Cynosure SmartCool® Advanced Dermal Therapeutic Cooling System, the Cynosure Elite™ removes unwanted hair with unsurpassed efficiency and client comfort. The SmartCool® provides a continuous flow of chilled air before, during, and after your laser hair-removal treatment, while protecting the tissue and skin from thermal damage. Ultimately, this results in a much more comfortable hair-removal experience for you, our client.
Many clinics offer IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments for hair removal, which should not be mistaken for the newer technology of Laser hair removal. IPL and Lasers work by converting light energy into heat energy that when applied to the treatment area, targets the melanin, damaging the hair follicle and stopping, or inhibiting hair growth. These two technologies differ in the light wavelengths administered by each. IPL uses a combination of different light wavelengths. Only some of these wavelengths will be effective for hair removal. Some wavelengths will reach the hair follicle, some wavelengths will not go deep enough to reach the hair follicle, and some wavelengths will go past the hair follicle. This means a percentage of the treatment will be ineffective and, in certain circumstances, can actually promote hair growth. And, less effective treatments mean more treatments overall will be needed to reach your hair-free goals! Laser is the latest and most effective technology for hair removal. Our Cynosure dual platform laser uses a single, precise wavelength that targets the melanin in the hair follicle exactly – no hit and miss. This exact wavelength provides a more effective treatment for hair removal than IPL. More effective individual laser hair removal treatments means fewer overall treatments are needed to achieve your desired results.
